Hello, we are looking at revamping the actual camp time. Currently we end our camp on Sat. morning. We are just taking a poll to see how many camps end of Friday night. We also serve people with special needs.
My camp ends friday nights but then again we are an 8 week day camp. We don't do overnights. If you are an overnight camp then this was kind of useless but I hope I helped!
We end our two week overnight sessions on Friday afternoons. This works well for us, because we don't begin new sessions until Sunday afternoons and it gives our staff some nice time off. Are you a camp with one long session over the course of the summer?
I currently work for a camp that goes from Sunday at 2pm to Friday afternoon around 5 to 6pm. This works very well for out 10 week program. It helps keep the staff energy high to have Saturday off and Sunday morning off.
This gives all day Saturday to clean the cabins and camp. It allowed us to make a very good first impression to the parents and campers. They look very closely at the condition of the buildings and more importantly how clean they are when they first arrive. I find parents are willing to over look the age of facilities if they are very clean.
the camp i worked for last summer ended saturday morning. so sun-sat. the two camps prior to that were sun- friday. and the camp i'll be at this summer is sun-friday as well. i personally feel as a staff memember sun-fri works best because it gives you time to prepare for the new group. also i've seen camps that end around 1-3 in the afternoon as pickup time on friday. or around 5. both of these work well.
Hi, We normally start our camp on Sun and end on Friday but because of office issues, paperwork, etc...we are going to try the Mon-Sat weeks this year.
My last camp I worked at had 4-10 sessions starting on early Monday morning and ending the following Thursday night and we had the time off for the staff to relax. There are a few campers who do stay for the weekends and that was 20 or less campers.
PM me if you want to sign up for the camp buddies for this summmer.
