I've spent 18 months trying to fund a new camp. I found a great property with year-round options. My business plan is rock solid, according to potential investors and 5 local banks. They all say that no one is finding the funds I need ($2-3M for property + improvement/start up funds) for a new camp business venture. The camp would convert from juvenile corrections to a coed recreation camp. How do new camps find funding? Does anyone know of an angel network interested in camps or youth projects? Banks around here want 35-40% down despite all the new loan programs. Ideas? Suggestions?
