How much do all the camps out there pay their staff? And on what kind of time schedule do they do it?

We pay our staff based mainly on graduation year with extra pay for certifications and years working at camp. We even pay our CIT's because they are a vital part of our camp. We pay our staff halfway through camp and at the very end with evaluations before they get their check. The link to our salary scale is below. I have always thought CITs should be paid even if it is a few hundred for the summer. It creates buy in for the CITs when it comes down to doing the actual work.

We pay staff minimum wage established specifically by our provincial government for live-in camp leaders. They are paid every 2 weeks. I feel it's important to provide these young adults with a regular income throughout the summer. It creates a system where they can begin or continue their journey to financial independence. It models a schedule regularly followed in the 'real world', and gives these folks some freedom on their breaks.

I do like the idea, though, of paying every 2 weeks, but withholding (if it's legal in your area) some of that money as an incentive or 'bonus' for making it through the summer... Although I fully empathize with why that's not always legal...
