Being the Program Director at a special needs camp, I am responsible for training about 130 staff members in one weekend. I have a great staff manual and the information part of training is great but I am trying to find some fun activites to do inbetween sessions. I would like to do able to use these to get staff to know each other but not take too much time. Any suggestions?

Personally, I like team building activities for staff training. It is a great way to get the team working together before the kids come! Once we constructed the Spider-Web element of a ropes course and had the staff work through that together. Are you familiar with that?

A fun but challenging team building game that I use for staff training is where I put all my staff on a log and give them a number...then I tell them they have to switch places with the person that has there same number, without falling off the log (if they fall off the whole group has to start over) and without talking... I usually number 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1. I hope that helps...it is fun! Let me know if you want any other ideas...I love team building activities and know lots of them! ;\)

Call Sanborn western Camps in Colorado. They have a book of "Jane's bag of Tricks" over 100 activities great for this type of thing.
