when you are in the church nursery trying to comfort a 1.5 year old boy who is not happy at his mom leaving him there and you start singing graces because you don't know many church songs and you figure that graces at least mention God! Well, the ones I sang did! I know a few little kid church songs, but since he didn't care one way or another I figured I would sneak camp in there so I could say I did!

Hehe!

When you are totally confused about the tune a grace is sang to but since you know the words join in anyway!

(we sang God is Great at lunch on saturday and it was to a completely different tune - not even the tune that the card said to sing it to which is the tune I know!)

I hate when that happens. I love learning new camps songs, but when someone comes in with a slightly different version it throws me off. We had someone always teach a different version of the shark grace that didn't make any sense to me since the lyrics were off and didn't make sense.

When you take more pictures at camp than you do the entire rest of the year but still want more pictures of camp!

When you go hiking in a national park with family members and enter TOTAL EXTREME COUNSELOR MODE when the two youngest (7 and 10) decided they want to run ahead of you not 25 feet from a CLIFF.

but then you sigh, breathe, know that they are OK and even if they aren't - at least you wont be sued in this situation.

Is this what parenting is like all the time?

A friend of mine has a fake fire pit / altar! We spent 3 hours singing camp songs around it.

When instead of reading about time management in nursing you're reading about homesickness management at camp.

You're playing with a kid and someone says "Bob Ditter says no!"

You are thinking about games to play with your campers and try them out on random kids.

You see a kid who is getting bullied by another one and you want to step in and make it funner for that child.

You think you should be doing something at all hours.

You wake up and think "time to get the campers up"

Their not campers to you their "Your Kids"

I was put down for a Thursday shift this week (Brownie night) and the ward Sister phoned the desk from the office to ask why I was working Brownie night. She was so confused when I explained that we were off for the Easter hols!

Ah it won't last long!

I have 3 loves in life....

Nursing, Brownies and Camp.

Not always in that order. And if I can combine them.... so much the better.
