prefer cabins cos there is less likely hood of spiders - but I do like tents too!

staff photo with everyone in the same uniform or whatever they want to wear?

Same uniform for the staff photos, it makes everyone look unified. Plus there will be LOTS of staff photos out of uniform throughout the summer!


Night hikes or day hikes?

night hikes are fun

head light or mini lantern for reading the cabin/tent at night?

Head lamp - they tend to keep the light more concentrated and let others sleep.

Read before going to sleep, or listen to music?

we definitely have cabins that have TONS more spiders than our tents because there are more crevices for them to get into and nest and such. Our more modern cabins definitely don't have many spiders, but our 4 wooden walled cabins do. The tent unit gets a lot more raccoons though!

head light because the light always goes where I need it no matter how I lay down!

staff binders to everyone at staff training for the whole summer, or just one binder/book of the 'need to know" info in every unit?

to everyone-- so that staff members have no excuse not to read it--staff wont be able to say that the binder for the unit went "missing"

weeklong training or 5 day training

individual binders! They include games and songs and cookout food ideas!!

hot chocolate or coffee?

my camp has weeklong. it will either be SWEET or TERRIBLE! it's actually more than a week, depending on if we have weekend time off or not. I don't know yet.

and hot chocolate! I like how coffee smells, bu not the taste.

Shave your legs/pits/beard regularly (at least once every 2 weeks) while at camp, or let it grow?

I try to shave every chance I get (read: every chance I get a WARM/HOT shower), which is usually weekly or sometimes twice a week if I am lucky! Pits get shaved before legs, just in case the water goes cold halfway through.


Does your camp have a salad bar, or are you stuck with what is served at the table?

Campfire at the ampitheather/campfire ring/where ever you normally do them or a floating campfire?

And we have had both - at one camp we had a built up bit in the lake so it looked like a floating fire but I like them were the fire is on dry land too!

which do you prefer - first camp fire of the summer or last?

Depends - they are so different it is hard to choose

BANANA BOATS!!

I would leave now - it would only take a few mins to throw some stuff in a bag!
