unable to sleep all night-- the last night of camp I was like this due to campers wanting to stay up until all hours of the night.

Yes it is a good idea-- my bed would make noises when you move even a tiny bit. Also the bed would cause pains in my body anywhere from my neck to back.

allowing campers to stay up extremely late on the last night of the session or not

Well they are going to do it whether you let them or not so might as well plan for it - unless it is an A session and the kids are coming for B session only a few hours after the A session kids leave!

should there be one full day off between sessions or two?

Once every two weeks

staff hoodies and jackets - SHOULD be provided by the camp or an optional extra offered to staff before they arrive so that if they want them they are there for the start of camp?

towards the end of the summer definately! Not sure about at the begining as the camp will know more about their backgrounds than you do

"you dont have kids you dont understand" - insulting statement, insensitive statement or neither?

not - cos at the camps I work at the age group with a unit would have been doing a different program to any other similar aged kids on camp - hence why they were in a different unit!

my camp had a saying it takes a village to raise a child and thats why they had villages and I think they did that to save money on unit leaders--- its cheaper to have 1 village leader for every 4-6 cabins then to have 1 per cabin when you have 270 campers

On to the question-- have a cabin/village night once a session or not

We had unit nights more often than we had all camp nights. I think it is good to get a balance between the two - so I would say 50/50

if running your own camp: here entirely US staff or a mixture of US and international?
