Just a query about something I found on the Cedarledge site. On the 'What to bring' page, what's an 'A-shirt'??

They're also called "wife beaters." It's one of those really thin white tank-top-type undershirts with ribbed cloth and thinner shoulder straps. They've been a favorite in the past, but in recent years they've been phased out of the camp dress code for decency reasons.

I thought they were still ok as long as you wear a bra that doesn't show through?

I don't even know, I feel like it changed a lot, and then I was gone last year, so I couldn't keep up with the dress code trends... I just wear T-shirts, so I'm fine too! By the way ACA Midstates was SO much fun!! I went to a lot of really interesting sessions, got some handouts, took some good notes, and came home with some useful ideas. Oh, and got a free bug zapping racket!

me too! Heck, I'd be happy going to Cedarledge to hang for a day, despite the fact that it holds no emotional or familiar connection to me!! Well, unless you guys were there. Then I would know people, but still you know what I mean!

We had a blast! The office is painted, and we got to do some exploring and preparation for precamp while we were out there.

Oh Smudge, it's not like we have any scary Cedarledge stories, except how crazy these guys are But yay! I think I may have recruited a day camper for my camp in my friend's daughter!!! Although a lot of factors could easily put that to a stop. hmm, we'll see.

You know, I'm not sure where she's from! She might not even be international, Brooke just keeps giving me e-mail addresses.

Turns out she's from Perth! Now I know.
Also, my brother's girlfriend (who does a lot of troop camping) has applied to work at Cedarledge. She just had her interview the other day, so it might take a while before she hears anything.

I love trying to pick up accents... And I think it's hilarious when the internationals pick up American accents! They're usually way overdone, but it's so funny.

I dont accents - dispite long periods living in places with really strong accents all I have is a kind of generic british accent! I tend to pick up vocabulary - for example I switch between trash, garbage and rubbish, and torch and flashlight!

One summer I lived with a group of British/Aussie counselors and staff. Since I was the only American in the group, I picked up some words and phrases like, torch and rubbish. Sometimes I still say some of those things either at camp or even in my classroom. - Teenster
