1. Food - Chicken patties!

2. Evening activity - My favorite evening game is actually a night game called "Oophdah." Basically, every cabin group has a scavenger hunt that they're following, but there's also sort of a flashlight tag element built in. If you see another cabin, you shine your flashlight at them and yell "OOPHDAH" and they have to stand in place for a minute. It's a lot of fun if the groups get really into it, because then you're running and sneaking around and it gets pretty intense.

3. Arts and crafts activity - Tie-dye is pretty big at our camp. I only do one or two shirts a year compared to some people who come with entire wardrobes ready to be dyed, but it's still pretty cool.

4. Waterfront activity - I was always a fan of doing whirlpools in the swimming pool, but we got half a dozen kayaks donated last year and I LOVE using them and showing kids how to use them.

5. Camp fire activity - I honestly love improv time fillers. Over the past few years, they've sort of become my niche, as far as entertaining the kids when something goes wrong like a cabin is late getting to the campfire, or the fire won't start. My friend and I came up with something called The Improv Song, and it's just this really simple song with a chorus that the kids sing along with, and then they yell out random stuff, and we pick one and make up a verse about it.

6. Staff orientation activity - We do something called the rope triangle. The entire staff is blindfolded and led out into a field. Somewhere in the middle of the field is a coil of climbing rope that they have to find and make an equilateral triangle with. To finish the activity, the entire staff has to sitting on the ground around the triangle, with at least one hand on it. It's a really fun activity, but really the biggest goal for it is to create some controversy and get people to speak up if they feel like someone hurt their feelings. It's sort of the whole debate of product versus process. Is it more important to achieve the goal? Or to get everyone involve to their satisfaction?

7. Cabins/Tents - We only have cabins, but I tend to like tens personally.
8. Sheets/sleeping bag - I use sheets in my cabin, and only break out the sleeping bag for really cold nights or sleepouts.

9. Camp names/real names - We don't really have camp names at our camp...

10. Way of serving meals (family/canteen style) - We sort of do a combination.. Kids sit in their cabin groups and eat as a "family" but go up to the buffet serving line to get their food.

\:o How could I have forgotten about whirlpools! I used to make them all the time in pools! I don't think it would work as easily in a lake though...

basically you run around in a circle over and over and over again and it gets the water going as if you stirred it in a circle. Then you can stop and it carries you around if I recall correctly!

We do jello or kool-aid painting where you sprinkle jello or kool-aid on paper and then drip water on it (or put it out in the rain). I wonder if you could do the same with pop rocks? Gonna have to give it a try!!!

1. Food - We bring our own. I usually bring fruit.
2. Evening activity - Free time with campers.
3. Arts and crafts - Marble painting with shaving cream. The perfect mix of art and making a mess!
4. Waterfront activity - Only use waterfront for fishing. Favorite water game is drip drip drop!
5. Camp fire activity - Day camp so no campfires. We do make open faced s'mores using solar ovens.
6. Staff orientation activity - Each staff picks five games they like to play and take turns teaching them to each other.
7. Cabins/Tents - Neither. We have tables (inside and out) assigned to each unit.
8. Sheets/sleeping bags - Day camp so no sleeping.
9. Camp names/real names - Real names.
10. Way of serving meals - Staff pass out lunches. Campers sit with their unit.

1. Food - French Toast
2. Evening activity - Campfires
3. Arts and crafts activity - Tie dye is awesome. I love friendship bracelets as well.
4. Waterfront activity - We don't have a waterfront at all at my current camp, but at a previous one, I liked taking the windsurfing boards without the sails and going 'surfing'
5. Camp fire activity - Songs!
6. Staff orientation activity - My favorite this year might be fire training. Or more specifically getting to put out controlled gasoline fires with fire extinguishers.
7. Cabins/Tents - Other than sometimes freezing at night, I like the tents. It just feels campy.
8. Sheets/sleeping bag - Both! In cabin units I tend to use the sleeping bag as a comforter. In a tent, it's warmer in the bag.
9. Camp names/real names - I was always pro real names, but camp names are definitely growing on me.
10. Way of serving meals (family/canteen style) - Family style
11. Something else that I've missed and you think is important :P
Favorite Song - The Wizard Song or Going on a Lion Hunt or maybe Princess Pat. I love call and repeat songs with actions.
