We have been noticing an increase in behavior issues at camp. This past summer we sent home several campers for breaking our code of conduct. I am wondering if there is a tool or a screening question we can use to weed these kids out before they come to camp? We are at capacity and would like to be able to give that spot to another camper who would not have behavioral issues.
Do your campers and parents sign and tuen in a "behavior contract" that clearly outlines acceptable/unacceptable behavior with the consequences of each behavior sttated? (signed by the parents and the camper, indicating that they agree and understand.....)
Behavioral Contracts tend to work rather well at our day camp. Not only is it documentation that we keep on file, but it is something that the parent can keep, discuss, have record of when/if their camper misbehaves.
