I am becoming burnt out on arts and crafts for boys in my residential (weekly) camp program. Any inexpensive, new, fun ideas? Thanks!

Try Chain Maile Jewelry boys love it, all you need is wire split rings, and two pairs of pliers for each camper... you can make your own rings or buy them

Hi Tara, I find that boys like pet rocks. Find some rocks, paint them or use markers, add some googly eyes and hair with yarn. The create a scene. The scene can be a stage for a rock band or Sherwood Forest for Robin Hood. Use construction paper and markers to create props like guitars, bows and arrows, etc.

Another thing they like to do is Art in Nature. Take the boys out to an area that has leaves, rocks, twigs, etc. and give them 10 minutes to create a work of art. You can team them up with another boy or let them go solo. You'll be amazed at what they come up with. Then let them explain and show off their masterpiece to the rest of the group. Take pictures of the artwork to show future groups.

I work at a Boys and Girls Club- we have a "Builder's Club" that meets weekly to involve more boys in art.

They love Lego space craft making competitions, Popsicle stick buildings, making cities with cardboard boxes and recyclables, and making random structures with toothpicks and marshmallows stuck together.

Hope this helps!

Seems quite interesting ideas!
Making cities with cardboard boxes and recyclables is good reuse. Will definitely work!
