I am feeling the itch to go back to camp this summer. I have worked at camps on and off since 2007. In that time I've been a cabin counselor, activity specialist, and a volunteer camp director. In that time I've graduated college, obtained my teaching certification and have been teaching for 3 years.

I'd love to go back to my "home" camp but they are very small and really have no positions that fit my qualifications (unless I volunteer direct, which is awesome - but getting paid is even better ;) )

Any advice on how to find leadership positions? I know lots of camps hire internally for those and in turn really only advertise cabin and specialist jobs.

It's really a pain to fill out long camp applications only to find out that the only jobs they have are for cabin counselors!

I've already had one interview this season that more or less told me I was over qualified for any positions they had open. Ok, enough of my rambling!

Is there anywhere specific you want to work, state/area wise?

Try Campstaff.com to look for camps and positions, you can ping people with your resume you post there, but it's easier to look there for the info and contact the camp directly.

The ACA year-round-jobs email/info does have seasonal admin positions.

Likewise, I'm looking to fill ALL administrative/upper level staff this summer at the camp I direct and another one, and might be able to give you some leads on others, so feel free to PM me and we can talk a bit!

Another way to find camps to work at is to search for camps using http://find.acacamps.org/ because I know in the past, there were not too many jobs listed under the job listing.

campjobs.com is another resource, http://www.campresource.com/summer-camp-jobs/ is one I used when I first started.

http://www.campchannel.com/jobboard/ is one I also used, but I would suggest searching for camps using the http://find.acacamps.org first because alot of camps may not advertise and alot of camps who do advertise, do so on many of the same sites I listed

PM me if you want to sign up for the camp buddies for this summmer.
