We are currently hiring senior staff, directors, and regular counselors for the 2014 resident camp season. Employment for these positions is May 31 through July 26, 2014.

We have two beautiful camps, each with unique features:

[b]Camp Scoutcrest[/b] is an aquatic camp. The 24 acre property is located on Crescent Lake in Odessa, Florida Camper are housed in 2 cabin units and a platform tent unit. Program offered include sailing, canoeing, swimming, waterskiing, archery, fishing, outdoor cooking and arts and crafts just to name a few.

[b]Camp Wildwood [/b]offers 589 acres of old Florida wilderness: treasured live oaks, palmetto, shaded winding trails and marshlands. Campers can stay in cabins, bunk houses, a dormitory and mini-barns. Activities include: equestrian, pioneering, swimming in a jr olympic sized pool, nature and environmental studies, outdoor cooking, arts and crafts, games and more.

The following senior staff positions are currently open:
[b]Assistant Camp Director (21+) $290-400 per week (Camp Wildwood only)[/b]
Supervises seasonal staff, assists in the direction of staff training and review of staff, is expected to check in with staff on a daily basis, assist the director with any managerial duties, handle supplies, and supervise and lead in activities and units as necessary. Must be able to work well with the challenges of camp and be adventurous.

Health Supervisor (21+) $300-450 per week[/b]
Responsible for the health and safety of campers and staff, along with maintaining operations in the infirmary and handling medications. Should be well organized and able to communicate well with campers of all ages and parents. Prefer registered nurse, EMT, LPN, PA, or have Wilderness First Responder and CPR.

[b]Food Services Manager (21+) $300 – 450 per week (Camp Scoutcrest only)[/b]
Responsible for planning well balanced, delicious, and creative meals that meet the nutritional needs of campers and staff while integrating fresh and unprocessed foods as much as possible. Must be able to plan camp menu based on camp’s budget, and work within state, local, and ACA guidelines for food services. Experience in the industry preferred.

Program and Leadership Director (21+) $290-400 per week[/b]
Primary responsibilities include coordinating, planning and facilitating camp-wide events, special programs. Responsible for training CITs and other leadership programs, helping to supervise unit staff, guiding and leading the staff in the care of the campers, facilitating activities, and completing the necessary weekly paperwork. Must be able to work well with teenagers and have a great sense of humor.

[b]Aquatics Director (21+) $290-400 per week[/b]
Supervises the day to day activities of the pool or waterfront. Experience leading and running camp activities, swim lessons, boating experience, along with holding an ARC Lifeguard Certification is needed. Ability to train staff in ARC Lifeguarding preferred, as well as those with WFR. Plan schedules for lifeguard trained staff, keep up with daily activities of the pool or waterfront, and general maintenance.

[b]We are also looking for a DIRECTOR at Scoutcrest![/b]

The Seasonal Camp Director works in conjunction with the Director of Program and the Outdoor Program Manager to oversee all aspects of the resident camp program at Camp Scoutcrest. The Camp Director is responsible for the implementation of the overall camp program and camp management. Work prior to camp is expected and would include participation in hiring staff, developing program plans, and training materials (15 total weeks of employment). This position manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the camp in consultation with supervisor, including but not limited to, staffing, camper and staff management, facility operation and program including supervision of staff.
Supervise all aspects of on-site summer resident camp operations at Camp Scoutcrest including supervision of staff, business operations, program development, and program implementation. Incorporate the Girl Scout Leadership Experience into the outdoor experiences of girls, adults, and families through positive, experiential education.
