Does anyone has a suggestion for a vendor to purchase all the start up equipment for a camp radio station? Any advice on doing this for the first time would be appreciated. Thanks

You can pick up the basic equipment at Radio Shack (mixer, microphone etc.) No idea about the transmitting equipment. Don't forget to apply for a license if you intend to broadcast anything that has a copyright.

You might consider podcasting instead... it's very much like producing radio, but it lives on the internet and can be played at any time, by anyone, so parents, etc. can listen... no license needed, just a cheap digital recorder and a microphone, and some software. It takes a little web savvy, but it's not hard.

Podcasting has been a part of the French Woods Computer Camp for a couple of years now.
