Do it for themselves. Our AD staff tried doing it for us for a week, and it was a disaster. I think it's also a good way to build communication skills (speaking up for yourself - or for the little guy) between unit staff when they have to do it on their own. I personally enjoyed doing it the day of ("hey, can I have 2-4? sure, you can have 4-6" and so on).
Falling in love with a staff member at your camp, or at a camp totally unlike yours that makes it somewhat difficult to talk about camp experiences (one is more rustic and "campy" and one is more upper-class and has A/C)?
