We pay staff minimum wage established specifically by our provincial government for live-in camp leaders. They are paid every 2 weeks. I feel it's important to provide these young adults with a regular income throughout the summer. It creates a system where they can begin or continue their journey to financial independence. It models a schedule regularly followed in the 'real world', and gives these folks some freedom on their breaks.

I do like the idea, though, of paying every 2 weeks, but withholding (if it's legal in your area) some of that money as an incentive or 'bonus' for making it through the summer... Although I fully empathize with why that's not always legal...
