We have a play-like Arts Festival every summer. The staff spends about two weeks writing a 4 scene play, making costumes and planning out activities centered around the theme (This year is was Scooby Doo). On Monday morning when the kids arrive, the camp is completely transformed and the kids are always completely surprised. The staff does a 10-minute scene from the ''play'' first thing in the morning, once before lunch, once after lunch, and at the very end of the day before the kids go home. All the counselors who are not in the play still dress up (we all got to be hippies and ghosts... awesome!) and the camp looks completely transformed. It's one of the most memorable days of the summer.
