Our 501(c)(3) organization is seeking to purchase or lease a facility which can be used for a small boarding and day school of about 30 students and 6-10 live-in staff.

Facilities must include:
  • Housing which accommodates two to four students per room. We are not looking for cabins or large bunkhouses.
  • Emergency room facilities within a 45 minute drive
  • Classroom space
  • Water and septic/sewer to support year round school of up to 30 students
  • At least 8 acres of land

We are willing to consider locations throughout the US if the price is at a point which we can both be competitive with other local schools and the facilities/area will likely draw interest. Texas is likely the most desirable location. We are well aware of sale prices of similar properties and thus won't consider facilities asking, for example, $3 million for what should be $750,000.

Please send a private message (click on name to left and select Send Private Message), including detailed facility details and asking price, if you have or know of facilities which may be appropriate. We are willing to work with private sellers as well as agents. If you know of other places to look for such properties as well, please let us know. Thanks.

Our Mississippi property may be exactly what you are looking for. But you haven't come and taken a tour yet?! 72 acres, 10 buildings, dining hall, gym, multiple staff living areas; nice, private student lodging areas; meets and exceeds all of your items listed above. Your property is very nice! Unfortunately there's a large competitor in the same area and it has one of the lowest tuitions in the nation. Based on the price of the property and the lower tuition price that would be needed, we found we had no way to compete when that school was so close by. If you want to give me a price I can't refuse, I'm all ears (eyes?).

Thanks. Unfortunately that property won't be suitable for our needs, but it would be pretty fun to own such a property. Can you sell to the person making the second highest offer on that site?

Ok, I am going to answer your specific questions.

*Our lodge is bunk style, but could sure be modified into individual rooms. We also have a small house on the property.
*Emergency room, owned by Duke Hospital, is 20 minutes away
* Have indoor and outdoor classroom space, including overhead projector.
* Commercial well, plenty of septic capacity- 3 systems
* Currently 18 acres, with access to1500 more privately held, and 525,000 publicly held. Have an offer to purchase 28 more acres out.

Other advantages- 55 minutes from Asheville airport, 1 mile Cataloochee ski area, borders Cataloochee Ranch. 3.5 hours Atlanta airport.
Amazing views! Lots of hiking trails right from property, mt biking, and paddling close by. Oh, and facility and showers are heated by wood boiler.
