55 'til my OE session!!!

68 'til summer!!!!!!

4 until I leave for my weekend at home/camp and 5 until I am actually at camp!!! YAY!!!!!!! I wish it would be 4 until I got to camp, but my friend has her reasons for not wanting us to run into someone who might be there Friday night. So instead we are driving over Friday to stay at my parents' house and my dad is going to make us biscuits and gravy in the morning before my friend and I are going to pick up her girlfriend from the bus station and head up to camp for Dad/youth overnight!!!! woot!!!

yeah, nataylor I'm kinda with you on that one. Last summer was going to be my last at my camp and i was going to find new, completely different one, but then I decided to apply for UL and got excited about that and now I'm a counselor again at my camp, and this will make my 11th summer (including as a camper of course) there. Next summer I think I'm going to go to another camp. Right now I'm all gung-ho for doing this but I know that I will miss my camp and that this summer is going to tear me apart when I do the last week especially because it will probably be my last. Though I am going to be a teacher and my camp is local so chances are I will end up doing that in the summers.

woot for OE!! I miss it!! I have 54 days until my 1 OE session!! Actually, now I think it's 53! And then 65 for DC for grief camp and then a week or so after that until staff training. OH! and 3 days until Dad/youth overnight!

Giggles, that's quite the path traveled. I'm a ways behind you since this will "only" be summer #4 for me but my camp also does weekends during the winter and this is winter #3 but my 1st 3 summers were spent as a counselor and i'm the trips coordinator this time around. I also don't have the summer flexibility as you since I won't be a teacher but I'll be working with kids year-round so I'll still have a little bit of camp in me forever

87 days until Caledonia 2010 and then it will not be long until I can start looking for a camp for 2012 - why do I bring this up - I am really campsick the moment cos I made the mistake of watching photo slide show from one of my old camps and it has made me really campsick - I really should have known better!

Smudge, I'd still get to go on the trips as well since I'll be one of the "main" drivers but I'll be covering breaks as well so that all campers have a counselor because we have a 1:1 ratio due to the fact that we are a special needs camp

1 month until training starts, can't wait

that is cool, nataylor. Poor Main Idea trip person!

We only have 2-3 trip programs/weeks per summer and the kids sign up for them from the get-go. Then 2 counselors (or a lifeguard and a counselor) go with them. The kids (usually around 10-14 of them, co-ed) show up Sunday with all the other kids and do some camp stuff and prepare to leave. Then they leave by Tuesday morning and come back Friday afternoon, run straight to the lake, jump in the deep end, swim out to the floating dock that's in the deep end, sing their unit fast song, jump back in, get out, and go shower. Then they are like a normal group in that they go to banquet dinner and closing campfire, etc.

Our trip planners are the directors and they plan the trips along with the rest of the program and they are the ones to hold the before camp meeting for the kids and parents.

I leave tomorrow evening!!!!!!!!! and I will be at camp the next day so 2 DAYS!!!!!! woot!! But of course I will be leaving camp in 3, so yeah. However, I will go back in like 52 or 53 days!! and then again in 65ish days!!
