That seems to work well. Even with the water fountains, many campers will have their own water bottle for sports and then also to take to program areas that might not be close to a fountain. At camp none if I can get away with it and if the camp has a sock rule then either as long as they are bright, patterned and colorful! So lets say knee lenght cos you can have more color! shoulder bag or backpack?
